Opening Ceremony

Opening Ceremony of HETI 2020 in the Royal Dublin Society

26th June @ 14:30pm sharp
RDS Simmonscourt (See Map)

RDS Simmonscourt

To mark opening of the International Congress of Equine Facilitated Programmes, Festina Lente is delighted to welcome participants to a display of Irish indigenous horses and other notable equines.  This is the first time that a HETI Congress has been opened by a display of equines and we are delighted to work with a variety of different organisations in making this possible.

William Micklem will provide an introduction to each of the equines and provide an informative and educational overview of their background in Irish history.

Amongst the equines will be the Connemara Pony, Irish Draught, Kerry Bog Ponies, Warm Bloods and Donkeys (though not indigenous to Ireland have been here for many years!), Coloured Horses and a number of rehabilitated retrained equines now involved in equine assisted learning programmes.

Current and ex-students from St. Augustine’s School will provide an exciting and stirring performance of traditional Irish Bodhran playing.
